Even though the thermostat and element design has changed over the years the unit still functions just like the original series
This is, without question, the ultimate percolator. Even though the thermostat and element design has changed over the years the unit still functions just like the original series. The new design actually has some advantages such as a solid bottom plate with no fittings or seals to ever leak. If you prefer very hot and aromatic percolated coffee over tepid, pressure fed or drip coffee, it will be a pleasure for you.

Yes, it is a good morning....
Very nice. Very, very nice. You know how you have something you use all the time, for many years, and then it wears out and you have to buy a new one. You go with the same brand, to try to get one as close to the one you had, as you can.... but it's not nearly as good as the original?? That happens to me all the time. So I was very happy when the quality of my new Faberware 12-Cup Percolator was as good as the old one! Happy & surprised. I ordered this to stand in for a bit, while we fixed the old one (replacing the terminal pin) and intended to keep this as a back-up. But we have been using it every day since mid December (about 45 days) and love it. This percolator is fast, the coffee is hot, the stainless steel is easy to keep clean and looks handsome. Yup. I like it. So now, the old one will be the back-up.

Perfect for brewing Thai Tea.
I bought this for brewing Thai iced tea because I didn't want to deal with the mess from using a cloth strainer. The stainless steel canister is large enough to brew about 8 cups of tea has the perfect perforation without letting too much particulates passing through. I discovered this by accident when I used this same brewer belonged to my buddy and decided to order one for myself.

Farberware Percolators Are The Best
All my life, my family, my husband and I prefer to utilize only Farberware Percolators for our coffee. We recommend Farberware. We are pleased with the price of this percolator. It has been a pleasure to use this product! Each percolator has lasted many years through it's quality, our use and care. Thank you.

Faberware 12 Cup Perculator- Great to
LOVE our Farberware 12 cup perculator! Our 2nd 8 cup just died a good old age of about 4 years; first 8-cup lasted almost10 years!! This is our weekend go to coffee pot. Perks nice HOT coffee; lovely taste especially with our freshly ground coffees. As you can see, we do Kurig on the go during the week. Almost like the fresh taste and aroma of camp fire coffee!

Great percolator
Good coffee. Hot and fresh. Love that it doesn't have aluminum in it. I love everything about this pot. I only wish that it had a light to indicate that it was still on. Keeps coffee hot until the last drop

Both of us love them. The coffee tastes great and I love ...
I read an article on how plastic in coffee pots can lead to cancer. Basically the heating up of the plastic breaks it down and releases it into the coffee. I got one for myself and my friend who is currently undergoing cancer treatment. Both of us love them. The coffee tastes great and I love that I can leave it plugged in and it tastes amazing hours later unlike other machines that taste burnt and nasty.

Best Tasting Coffee You Will Make at Home
Yes it's true there have been problems over the past few years with this percolator...for a while Sears had the design and so did Black and Decker it was never as good as it was when manufactured in New York. And my last one died an untimely death after a short life of limping along, right from the box it wouldn't pour well without the lid being slightly open...put a thrill in pouring coffee without being scalded early in the morning. There is nothing like stainless steel to brew coffee the way it should be brewed, I imagine all glass would be even better but I'm not sure it can be found in an automatic percolator version. We had the older New York models that lasted decades at a clip then the only part to wear out was a plug and every two years or so it was off to the hardware store to get a short 6" appliance plug. I've made up my mind to just keep sending it back under warrantee for the first year and since my credit card extends the warrantee I'm good for two years. I've thrown out my share of crappy Mr. Coffee makers (they sneak in as presents) and even the more expensive Mr. Coffee types have a plastic reservoir that imparts a plastic aftertaste to an otherwise good cup of coffee. I think I'll stick with getting that better cup of coffee even if it's a bit of a struggle.

Love my Farberware
I've owned my Farberware Perc for over 25 years. I have a second one I got an excellent deal on as a back-up. Yes they've both been repaired but they're still going strong. For the thermostat problem I'd suggest going to a suggested repair place that is in the folder with the pot and have the repairman show you how simple it is to do your own replacing. Then stock up on the parts needed. There seemed to be a streak/batches of bad thermostats that just didn't last long. The currant one has been in use for at least 5 years. There's another part in it that can go bad too, but I'm drawing a blank right now on what it's called. I love the ease of "perking" a pot of water with half a scoop of Oxyclean in it. Cleans up the pot in a flash and soooooo easy! Ours is in use constantly so fast and easy is the game when it's time to clean the pot. The clean pot makes the best tasting coffee. It gets pretty sad tasting when the pot is dirty. I have to edit the cleaning part. I just got "new and improved Oxyclean" and it's got a much larger scoop in it. So I have to suggest using 2 teaspoons or a tablespoon of Oxyclean to a pot of water. Still works just as well as I just cleaned my pot.

Great cup of coffee
Our well water tastes fantastic, but is a little hard and so it destroys Keruigs and drip coffee makers after 6-9 months! So, I decided to give this a try and glad I did. First of all, it make a fantastic HOT cup of fantastic coffee. Second, not need for expensive and environmentally unfriendly K-cups or tediously re-useable K-cups. Lastly, it is super easy to clear and maintain. I do wish a programmable percolated coffee pot existed, but alas I couldn't find one. Instead, we have this on a timer and so this allows us to set up coffee pot at night and it is ready for us in the morning. Have had it up and running for a month and no issues as yet. Will update at 6 months if it konks out on me.
